St Mark's Band Concert
The band from St Marks in Heyside gave a Band Concert in Church. The concert featured traditional March music played by the full Military style band, Film music and a short Last night at the Proms. The Drum Corps played a series of tatoos and Drum statics including a feature with 3 parents getting their chance in the limelight and playing the drum for the first time. The Glockenspiel section added variety and colour with their many pieces of music from their expansive repertoire. The concert was enjoyed by an audience of over 80 with many selecting the encore of Highland Cathedral as the highlight of an excellent performance. The band comprised 24 members aged between 8 and 58, the youngest being or 8 year old Drummer Harry McLean. Thank you to everyone who supported the evening which raised a total £400. A cheque for £200 was presented to Harold Tetlow on behalf of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. A very well done to St Mark's and all who attended and contributed.
