Parents
As a parent of a child the Church Lads' and Church Girls' Brigade will develop your child by the extensive range of activities, games and badgework.
Keeping our members safe is at the heart of everything we do
With the CLCGB's excellent reputation for keeping our members and leaders safe, you can be assured that when you drop your child off on a Brigade evening, or when going on a trip or camp that they are in our safe hands.
We check our volunteers who work directly with our members.
This process includes:
- a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check;
- references;
- a discussion between the potential volunteer and the Commanding Officer.
Volunteers will only be accepted if they pass all of these checks.
Training
All our leaders are trained in the CLCGB around the programmes we offer, Safeguarding, responding in emergencies and how to handle child protection concerns.
Keeping everyone safe at CLCGB
Our policies and procedures ensure that there is the correct leader to member ratio in every part of the CLCGB. We carry out risk assessments for all of our venues and for outings and any new activities we do.
Your safe online
CLCGB has its own online IT policy - We monitor our social media channels and website and respond quickly to questions and concerns. We involve our Safeguarding manager immediately if there's a problem.
If you have concerns
If you are unhappy or have any concerns with anything about your child's attendance at any of our Brigade evenings or events, please speak to the Commanding Officer or Leader in charge to have the situation resolved as quickly as possible to effectively manage the safety of our young members. Alternatively please contact National Headquarters at contactus@clcgb.org.uk
