Scripture Union - Guardians of Ancora

Scripture Union have recently launched Guardians of Ancora which is a free tablet game for 8- to 11-year-olds offering an amazing virtual world and an immersive interactive experience of Bible stories.

This can be used in your local Brigade Unit.

Guardians of Ancora Clubs are a simple and effective way to help build links with your local school. They run for 4 to 6 weeks with a small group of children at lunchtime or after school. They provide a great opportunity for children to get to know the Guardians of Ancora game and engage with the Bible stories it contains.

Apple Swift Playgrounds - New app programming

Those looking to learn some coding techniques can now do so more easily following the launch of Apple’s Swift Playgrounds.

Although the iPad app looks more like a video game at first, it’s actually a series of coding lessons and challenges designed to teach kids the fundamentals of computer science, all based around Apple’s new programming language, Swift3.

This is an interesting resource and could be used on a Brigade evening or to share wider to develop IT programming skills.
