“It feels nice to be part of a group who help each other and are friendly. It makes me feel special.”

Maddison, aged 10.

What do the clergy think?

“I have been involved with CLCGB since 1969 and have seen how precious it was and what a difference it made in my Parish, All Saints & Martyrs Langley, which had a huge Company. It brings what young people need to young people, it gives them friendship, it gives them fellowship and fun."

Bishop Jack Nichols

font size

The CLCGB have been offered 4 places (one on each working group) to participate in the Institute for Youth Work Working Groups.  It would be very good for your self development and also assist our reputation as a voluntary organisation.

Travel expenses will be paid for by the Institute for Youth Work.

For a copy of the Terms of Reference and Guidance notes for NCVYS reps click the following link:

There are four working groups in total as follows, and group members basically comment on proposals and provide ideas:

Governance – looking basically at the governance structure of the IYW (so far no meetings scheduled – communication via email)

Membership – looking at membership categories, how the election system will work etc. (so far no meetings scheduled – communication via email)

Continuous Professional Development – putting in place products and services to support members’ CPD – what should those products and services be?
Meeting dates:  16 April 1-4pm NYA Leicester, 15 May 1-4pm London

Ethical Practice Framework – looking at codes of conduct for members, employers and sanctions if “bad/unethical” practice is reported.
Meeting dates:  11 April 1-4pm NYA Leicester – this meeting will focus on understanding the ways in which the NYA’s existing Code for Ethical Conduct in Youth Work needs to be updated or revised.  25 April 1-4pm NCVYS, London – this meeting will focus on whether there is a need for organisation members to have a code of ethical conduct and what this could cover.
