Will I have fun?

Will I try new activities and challenges?
Will I be welcome?

Yes, Yes, Yes, absolutely yes and all with those of a similar age in a safe, well-run environment.
All our leaders are vetted, DBS checked, and follow the Anglican church ethos.

So try us out, the journey starts here: Find Your Local Group

“It feels nice to be part of a group who help each other and are friendly. It makes me feel special.”

Maddison, aged 10.

What do the clergy think?

“I have been involved with CLCGB since 1969 and have seen how precious it was and what a difference it made in my Parish, All Saints & Martyrs Langley, which had a huge Company. It brings what young people need to young people, it gives them friendship, it gives them fellowship and fun."

Bishop Jack Nichols

DBS Update Service

font size

The Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) has recently brought in the facility to subscribe to the Update Service which means that once you are registered, you will not need to fill in any more DBS applications unless your records with them are changed for some reason.

This means that, in future, the Brigade will not need to ask you to resubmit a form every three years, as NHQ can check online to see if your record is unchanged.

Once you have received your certificate from DBS, go online within fourteen days to register for the update service.

You will need to click on the option to use my Certificate number instead in the box entitled Application Reference

If you are certified as a volunteer, there is no payment required. Just select yes to the question whether you are a volunteer and remember to update your registration every year.

On the first occasion, please also show your certificate to your OIC or Incumbent so that they can pass on your details to NHQ.

If you are already registered through other employment or a voluntary agency or church, you only need to give your OIC and NHQ your Certificate number and date of birth for us to check online without further form filling!

Would you like to subscribe to the Update Service? This service reduces the need to apply for multiple Certificates when you move from one job to another in the same workforce or when a recheck is required.

CLCGB can carry out a quick online Status check to see if your Certificate is still up to date – saving you both time and money.

By subscribing to this service you will be able to:

  • Add/Remove DBS Applications/Certificates.
  • View the organisations who have checked the status of your Certificate(s).
  • Amend your contact and payment details.
